Four holidays this month! Your choice if you celebrate them all or not. Also, there’s a winter festival on the trollway and a couple of Game Nights at telsaan. This list might get updated.
Feb. 2: Groundhog Day – See note below.
Feb. 3-5: Scandihoovian Winter Festival – In and around Mount Horeb, WI.
Feb. 4: GAME NIGHT – At telsaan, 18:00-23:00. Bring a board game, a handful of your associates, and have a warm, lively evening at your local tea shop.
Feb. 14: Valentine’s Day – Tea and tea wares make great gifts (/hint). Seasonal tea sale on pomegranate black tea, rose black tea, rose white tea, and flowering tea balls.
Feb. 16: Essential Oils class with Shannon – At telsaan, 18:30-19:30. Have questions? Bring them.
Feb. 18: GAME NIGHT – At telsaan, 18:00-23:00. Yep, two Game Nights this month. Normally, they’re three weeks apart, but the Erin’s taking off next weekend.
Feb. 20: Presidents’ Day – USPS closed; shipping orders delayed one day.
Feb. 25: CLOSED – Erin’s taking a personal day off for an Aikido seminar.
Feb. 28: Mardi Gras – Green tea can help burn some of those calories from partying.
I realized something about Groundhog Day while I was writing this. This may be obvious to a number of people, but I just now realized it, so it’s a revelation for me. Supposedly, if the groundhog does not see his shadow, then spring will come early. On the other hand, if the groundhog does see his shadow, then there will be six more weeks of winter. However, the first day of spring is more than six weeks after Groundhog Day, since the spring equinox isn’t until March 20. Thus, regardless of whether or not the groundhog sees his shadow, the prediction is that spring will arrive early.
